Papa and Sherri

Monday we got a call that Papa and Sherri switched their flights so they would be arriving a couple hours earlier than planned. Knowing that sometimes Callie needs a heads up before something new happens, I had been preparing her all day saying "Papa and Sherri are coming today." "Maybe, we will see Papa and Sherri tonight." So when we got in the car to go to Sleeping Giant and roast marshmallows with Lindsey, Travis, Mayah and Asher, Callie was calling out "no I want to see Papa and Sherri." We had a lot of fun for family home evening with the Seveys, but it was not enough to sever the thought from Callie's mind. When we got in the car at 8:00 Callie dictated that it was now time to see "Papa and Sherri." So that is what we did, we visited them briefly in their hotel. Tuesday was our day to see Yale. So we toured all the main sites and finished at the book store where we loaded up on Yale paraphernalia. Callie treated Papa and Sherri to a tea party at our house. That evening we devoured a decadent, Callie less, dinner at Zinc. Wednesday we did the car driving tour of Boston and Red Sox baseball. It was raining and then pouring. Their was a brief lapse in rain when we had hope that we would see our Red Sox play. In this one serendipitous moment we walked to our seats took some pictures of us in the stadium then went back to bundle up by the snack stands under the stadium. The rain then began to pour. We bought sweatshirts and hot dogs while we waited for the pouring rain to stop. The game was canceled and we went home. Thursday the guys played golf. Sherri, Callie, and I went to Greenwich to see the shops and houses. We drooled the whole time from the car. The houses are spectacular with grand estates, and walls you can only peek past. We had dinner that night at Sage American Grill on the water in New Haven. Friday was another rainy, yucky day so we decided to stay dry and head to the Peabody museum of Natural History. We had a late lunch at Pepe's Apizza (where Pizza was invented in 1925). Being bloated with Pizza and tired from our day did not stop us from stopping at Liby's Italian bakery where we loaded up with canolies cookies, and tarts. Saturday we met at the Farmers market on Wooster St. and said our good byes. What a great week. As we said good by to our visitors Callie balled out "Papa and Sherri, Papa and Sherri, no go, Papa and Sherri." We were all sad to see them go.

"Bloated with pizza" is a pretty graphic image there, Addie. Party, party, party!
