Our May Accomplishments

It is only the 12th of May and already we LaDukes have accomplished a lot in a month. Cameron just finished his last of three 20page papers, not to mention the 12 pages of French translation he turned in. I finished a project in my class "House of the Lord," where my model and plans of a modern LDS temple were on display at Yale. Callie drew her first still life, acquired three pairs of sun glasses (one is lost already and one is broken), got an adorable hair cut, and can now spell "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." Well she can spell the first part. Yesterday we went to our first Divinity School Community Dinner. Apparently they have these free meals once a month, but Cameron was too busy to know about them. It was a nice finish to a hard semester for us all. They BBQed hot dogs and hamburgers out on the Quad. Cameron was in Heaven finishing off no less than two cheese burgers and two foot long dogs. I married him for his appetite. Despite this gluttonous sight Callie again was the one to watch. She started out so shy she would not leave the stroller or my arm. After watching the other children run freely about she led me over to some unintimidating girls who we then introduced Callie to. They all became fast friends and continued to run about having fun. Then for no reason at all Callie started to make friends on her own. She would just go sit by a strange group of adults, strategically positioning her self next to an attractive man. I don't know whether she was flirting or looking for a cupcake. But, her plans were foiled with mom walking up to wipe her nose. Everyone agreed no matter her motive it was an adorable attempt. Today it was back to work, 9:00 we had a garage sale or as the locals call it a Tag sale. We made a whopping $86.00. So Cameron decided to take us all out to dinner and ice cream for Mother's Day. We were so tired but hung in there until the end, and now we are home and cleaning up for the missionaries who are coming over tomorrow. Oh, and we need to get ready for Papa and Sherri's visit on Tuesday.
