June is almost over, and so is my wait for surgery. I have mostly stayed put in my little home. I have been hibernating like a little bug. It has been very boring for Callie. We do go to swimming every morning, and we have taken two trips. One trip was up to visit Cam's family for Eden and Paisley's baby blessings. Another trip was to Snowflake for Bill and Karen's "not farewell" talks in church. The Berry's even came to Snowflake with us for some golf time with Papa LaDuke. We all have a blast with the cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandma and grandpa. Besides these trips Callie has been pretty bored. With all this boredom comes much time for reading lessons and reading time. In one month Callie had done over 26 hours of reading time, and over 10 reading lessons. She has just earned enough money to buy her Jungle book figurines and pay her first tithing installment. She is so excited to have these little toys. The only problem is she makes me be King Louie because she doesn't like him.
Last night we went to see the movie Wall E, with the Berry's. Callie has been anticipating this movie for about 6 months. Thanks to Disney's wonderful marketing techniques, my three year old navigated to a Wall E site through Playhouse Disney, and has been self taught to all the character details of the movie. Before the movie started she knew about 5 of the character's names, and was even telling me "Eve is like a mom, right." When I asked her why Eve is like a mom Callie explained, "She says, 'come one Wall E.'" If you substitute the name Wall E for Callie it sound a lot like something I say daily to her. When a new character was made its debut on the screen, Callie informed me of their name. So now that we have seen the movie Callie keeps telling me we need to do two reading lessons and then she can get EVE. We will see how much an EVE toy costs then negotiations will begin. She has always been a little negotiator.
Callie quotes:
"she was little, she was a kid, Right?" (Meaning: the picture of someone she is looking at is from when they were younger.)
"Mom, Avery wants to hear the music louder."
"We can clean up tomorrow." or if I say it is time to clean up she will ask, "Who is coming over?"
"Mom, I fink Avery is hungry."
Avery's 4 month Stats:
25.25 inches long 90%
13 lbs. 13 oz. 50%
Rolled over back to front 6/21/2008
Plays with toys. (grabs, shakes, or bites them)
Tall enough and sturdy enough for the exersaucer.
She is cutting two large teeth on top. They are oddly not the middle ones but maybe the fang teeth, two over from the center. She is drooling a lot. (oops 1st tooth today June 30th bottom left center).
Won’t take a bottle. This is a concern for surgery date.
We are looking forward to 4th of July with all the cousins in Gilbert/Chandler. I am really looking forward to July 10th when my stone will be blasted.

I "fink" you and your family are wonderful. I, too, look forward to the time when you don't have your stones and you are back to feeling good and energetic.
Much love, Mom
Addie, SURGERY?! What? I take it that you have kidney stones? I am confused. Please inform. BTW, Avery is so cute! She looks like she is a blondie! Is she? Also, both your kids look so much like Cameron! Its so fun! We miss you guys.
Hi Addie it's Shanen. I get on your blog every once in awhile, and I had to leave a note tonight. I also have kidney stones and they are the worst. It always amazes me how everyone's body handles them and reacts to them so differently. I felt my first one about 4 days after my 2nd child was born. (About 5 years ago) I went straight to the hospital and they said it was too large to pass and I was scheduled for surgery 2 days later. The eve before surgery I experienced the most excrusiating pain known to me. And I passed that huge 6mm stone. I saved it, called the DR. and took it to him in the morning. He was shocked.
Since then and during my 3rd pregnancy I proceeded to pass the remaining 12 stones I had between my kidney's. The final one being on my due date. YAHOO.....until I passed another one 3 days later.
After another trip to the hospital and more x-rays, I learned I have 13 more stones again.
Somehow I have been able to pass all my stones which I know isn't very common. Most I get through with Tylenol, but I have been drugged with Codine plenty, and I have had 4 ER visits. I don't evnie me, and I certainly don't envie you, I can't imagine this surgery will be fun. I hope it goes well and you have complete relief from these nasty stones. You certainly can't know someones pain unless you have been there. Good Luck!!!
Good luck with the surgery. I hope everything works well for you, including the bottle thing with Avery. It's great to hear you all are doing so well. We miss you guys.
I really enjoy reading your blog and seeing the darling pictures of your kids. It's funny how everyone has different opinions on who your kids look like. Proof of how we all look at things from our own perspective! We'll be thinking about you this week and wishing you well.
Hey Addie-so sorry about your grandma. Its hard even when you know they are in a better place. I hope your surgery went well!
Addie, LOVE the pics and miss you alot! We indeed have two skinny little twins with big blue eyes. Can't wait to see you in September! Keep the stories coming...
ADDIE!
Hello! Hey, I am just catching up and it is sooo fun to see you and your kids! (well, read what you think, and see your kids!) Avery is gorgeous! And Callie, of course, is too. Thanks for commenting a while ago! Anyway, great to see that you are all well!
You have a beautiful family--good luck and blessings with the challenges you are facing.
